Wind Ensemble 2025-26
**All auditions were ranked by 2 professional musicians unaffiliated with the program. This posted list is in no particular order. If you weren’t selected please don’t be discouraged or quit. Seniority is considered for students that been in the band for several years. More opportunities will be given to you in the concert band class where you’ll continue to develop as you’re asked to play more principal parts there**

All percussion students who have had at least 1 year in the Davis High concert bands may take Wind Ensemble. Percussion Ensemble music will be part of your literature as well as some doubling of parts.
Starting in 2024 Davis will have 2 concert band ensembles students may be a part of the Concert Band (mostly made up of sophomores) and Wind Ensemble (auditioned group). Audition music for Wind Ensemble located at the bottom of this page. Auditions for 2024 school year are due May 10 2024 and will be done via video upload. If a student moves in or has an exception to this deadline please reach out to Mr. Crookston
If you are interested in auditioning for Wind Ensemble please email Mr. Crookston a [email protected]. Generally sophomores are not taken in Wind Ensemble unless your instrument is in need. If auditioning, please prepare the music at the bottom of the page.
Priority will be given to students who audition in the time frame given. Upperclassmen percussionists are put into Wind Ensemble and they do not need to audition. Simply sign up for that class.
Please upload a recording of your performance here If you are prompted to "sign in" your DSD school email. Personal emails should also work.
The wind ensemble audition music is at the bottom of this page. Please perform the etude as well as your 12 major scales.
Auditions are then shared with qualified professional musicians and educators in the area who “rank” the performances by instrument. The spots are then awarded based on instrument need from there.
