Paula Alfonso
Gainesville, Florida
Paula Alfonso is originally from South Florida, she is a member of the Florida Federations of Judges Association. Paula has judged for: FFCC, SFWGA, MCCGA, NJNJ, AIA, and UCA. As a High School student she was a member of Flanagan High School from Pembroke Pines, Florida. Her Drum Corps experience includes: The Magic of Orlando, Crossmen, and the Cadets. Paula also has a vast indoor background performing with the following Independent World teams: The Alliance of Miami, Paradigm, and the Knights.
Her experience in teaching programs goes from High School, Drum Corps, and through the Independent World level. In the past she has worked with: Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, Spirit of Atlanta,Gainesville Independent, and Pegasus all the way from A to World. In Gainesville, she is the Director of two programs who compete in the FFCC and WGI: Gainesville High School, Santa Fe High School, and Unity Independent.

Dr. Ed Cannava
Centennial, Colorado
Dr. Ed Cannava holds BME, MME and PHD degrees in music education, from the University of Colorado. He was a public school music educator for 32 years, culminating with his 22 year tenure as Director of Bands at Arapahoe HS in Centennial, Colorado. Dr. Cannava was as an instrumental music education instructor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2010-2014, and is in his ninth year as Director of Bands at Regis University of Denver. He is active as a guest clinician, conductor, adjudicator and consultant. Dr. Cannava has adjudicated marching, concert and jazz bands in Colorado, Washington, Utah, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, California and Tennessee. He has been the Colorado Friendship Cup Marching Band Festival Series Chief Judge since 2011.
Dr. Cannava has had ensembles perform in many invitational performances over his career including: numerous feature performances by his junior high, senior high and university, concert, jazz and chamber ensembles at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic/Conferences; the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; Carnegie Hall; the American School Band Directors Association National Convention; the New Year’s Eve Vienna, Austria Parade; and the London New Year’s Day Parade.
Under Dr. Cannava’s direction, Arapahoe High School was twice recognized as a Grammy Signature School. The Arapahoe HS Warrior Marching Band was recognized as a top two or three 5A Colorado State Champion Finalist several times. Dr. Cannava has served as ASBDA National President, and received an NBA Citation of Excellence Award, a Phi Beta Mu – Colorado Outstanding Band Director of the Year Award, and was inducted into the 2017 Colorado Music Educators Association and 2019 Colorado Bandmasters Association Halls of Fame. He also directs the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars, who have performed in New York City, Seton Hall University, and New Orleans, and at the Sacramento Jazz Festival, the Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festival, the Kongsberg, Norway International Jazz Festival, the Assisi, Italy Music Festival, and the Umbria, Italy Jazz Festival.

Bret Mascaro was recently appointed as an adjunct professor and supervisor of student teachers at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Previously, Bret completed a full career as a music teacher, band director, and Music Department Coordinator for the Methacton School District. During that time, Bret served as a PA Music Educators Association District President and Festival Coordinator and has twice been a clinician at the PMEA Annual In-service Conference. In the interim, Bret spent four years as Director of Education for the Zeswitz Music Company in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Rick McEnaney is in his 36th year as a public school music educator. He has taught instrumental music at the Middle School, High School and Collegiate levels, and has been a member of the music education and generally education faculties teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at NAU, UNLV, SUU, and Sierra Nevada College. Nationally Dr. Mc is in demand as an adjudicator, clinician, curriculum designer, and guest conductor. He has been married to his remarkable wife Lyn (who is a colorguard instructor, and amazingly patient) 36 years.

Mark Stone
Hayden Lake, Idaho
Mark Stone was the director of bands at Ayala High School in Chino Hills, CA for 28 years and has retired from education after 36 years. Mr. Stone received many awards and accolades during his tenure including CVUSD Instrumental Music Mentor Teacher, Ayala High School 1999 ‘Teacher of the Year’ and the 2006 Fidelity Investments ‘Inspire The Future’ Award.
He is presently an adjudicator for Bands of America (BOA), Winter Guard International (WGI) and has judged throughout the country. He has also served on the Executive Board for Western Band Association (WBA) and San Bernardino County Music Educators Association (SBCMEA) and is a founding member of Southern California Percussion Alliance (SCPA). Mr. Stone was also an associate director for the BOA Honor Band for the 2017 Rose Parade.
While at Ayala the program enjoyed many successes including; eight-time SCPA World Class Gold Medalists, eleven-time WGI World Class Gold Medalists (concert and marching), nine-time Bands Of America Regional Champion, 2004 & 2013 BOA Grand National Championship Finalists and three-time WBA Grand Champion.
